Sunshine
Coast Hotel Accommodations
June 2000 brought us one of the Inn's most delightful
treasures, Gracie, our first child. When you visit, you will surely be
greeted by this little hostess, who proudly asks guests, "Isn't your
room gorgeous?" gracie loves to be playful as you will see her in
a photo with the snorkeling goggles.
More renovations and upgrading to our Powell River Accommodations,
followed over the years - Ian has built modern bathrooms, torn walls out,
put new ones up, and we have replaced all the carpets and fixtures, restored
the existing vintage moldings and chair rails. We have searched for furniture
in keeping with the Inn's historic character. Always as we renovate we
try to respect the integrity of the heritage building, build in 1939.
Another special treasure was added to our home in Feb. 2002 with the birth
if our little son Ben. ben is a little shy and is full of surprises. He
loves his Groucho Marx glasses.
Over the years what I have come to love most is interior
decorating and design - finding that perfect piece of antique furniture,
art object or luxurious piece of fabric. Having an eclectic mix of vintage
objects can bring back for people. Many times, I have enjoyed hearing
people making comments as they are walking through the building and seeing
something that reminds them of their childhood, of someone they know or
days passed. Take a virtual tour via computer and you'll see!
Each room of our Powell River Accommodations is uniquely
decorated and has its own theme and character with antique Wardrobes,
1940 Vanities, old paintings, vintage books and lamps, photo glass negatives,
even ladies' hats, gloves and jewellery. Wing back style chairs and old
wooden dressers grace the halls, creating an ambiance of comfort and ease.
here you'll feel the luxury of stepping back in time, and old-world charm.
Outside you'll see the landscaping beginning to
reflect the Historic Townsite gardens of old, as shrubs, trees and flowers
thrive in beds that were formerly asphalt parking lots. We have put our
hearts and souls into our Powell River Inn. It is our home and our hearth.
Come and visit. Rest, relax, stay with us a while. Looking forward to
meeting you.
